Partition:
Logically segmenting the physical hard disk is known as partition.
Partition are of two types -
1. Primary Partition.
2. Secondary partition.
Primary Partition:
First partition created on the raw hard disk is known as primary partition.
a) We can format primary partition.
b) We can save the data.
c) Microsoft recommanded is to install operating system on the primary partition.
Extended partition:
After creating the primary partition, rest of the space is known as extended partition.
a) We can not format extended partition.
b) We can not save data.
c) If u want to save the data, We need to create further partition on the extended partition. Which is known as Logical drive.
Formating:
This is the feature of windows operating system, where we can create database for new file system.
Windows file system are:
1. NTFS (New Technology File System).
2. FAT (File Allocation Table).
